Statesman says the Trinity Ridge fire ran west over the weekend and is only 14 miles from Idaho City. Jumped the Middle Fork.

Here's a map showing it:

After a crystal-clear week, it was disappointing today to have very smoky conditions when we were ready to take advantage of some of the best views the Lick Creek range has to offer.

Oh well. Still a great hike/climb. We climbed South Loon Peak. Here's an old trip report from the same peak:

On the bright side, I was pleased to see how much the area has recovered from the fires.
And this evening's music at Crusty's was great.

John, looks like all the smoke moved to the north. Dylan and I climbed DBE yesterday and had pretty good visibility without a hint of a smoky smell. Great climb!

All of the webcams are showing very sunny skies. Stanley, Smiley Creek, Willow Summit, Hailey, Pine Turnoff, yada yada yada. So I ask, where is the smoke going or have the fires died down to where the are no longer emitting copious amounts of smoke?

It looked like all the smoke was heading northwest on Sunday. We could actually see the smoke plume from the Trinity Ridge fire heading that direction from Hwy 20 Sunday evening.
