Any body know if there is any fish in Upper Boy scout lake or iceberg lake east of Whitney peak in CA? Just wanted to know if i should bring my fishing pole or not on my climb later this week.

I'm pretty sure they stock most of the major lakes in the Sierra. I'm not sure about those two specifically though . . .

Thanks for the invite, but I just got back from a 3 week climbing trip to Peru, so I think I'm going to try to keep it local for awhile.

I've done the East Face of Whitney before, it's really fun! The climbing is super mellow, but you can't beat the exposure and views! On the first pitch you go from zero exposure (the approach is up a talus filled gully sort of thing) to about 800 feet of air below you as you step out onto the traverse, amazing! Have fun!

I don't really believe you. You'll have to prove it with some pics (please).

A little air guitar on the summit plateau of Ranrapalca, somewhere just shy of 20,000ft above sea level. The summit is just behind me to my right in this picture. Although I got very close to the summit, maybe not close enough to hit it with a snowball, but definitely with a 3 person water balloon launcher, waist deep sugar snow covered in breakable crust coupled with a lack of oxygen prevented me from standing on the tippy top of this one . . .

Yeah that was all the locals could talk about. We spent 9 days in the Ishinca Valley to kick off the trip, and were only finally able to get a cloud free view of Tocllaraju on the last day.
