Still trying to get the lay of the land here in Idaho and this board has already steered me to some great peaks in the immediate Boise area. Looking for a Class 3 peak that I can do and be back in Boise by dinnertime. Would like to find a trailhead that is also idiot-proof to find, have not done much driving around Idaho other than going to Sun Valley, McCall and Idaho Falls for work.

Did Mt Borah last year and would like to do 2-3 more alpine type hikes this year now that the snow is starting to melt.

There is some fun scrambling on Squaw Butte if you seek it out.

Or you could try Castle Rock. TR:

Did Squaw Butte earlier this summer after a recommendation on this forum. That was a great scramble, really enjoyed it.

Are there any peaks around Sun Valley or Stanley that I can hit by 8-9:00 in the morning and be done by 3-4:00PM?

Quite a few, depending on what you are looking for. I think Dan, Dave and I all have times on most of our TRs:

After you've done one or two to compare to your own pace, that's a good way to figure it out. You also want to interpolate for conditions. For example, one of the shorter climbs I've done in that area was I did Imogene Peak in four hours car-to-car but at my fastest pace and in the fall so the creek crossing was easy:

YMMV
