The Bowery Boys would be on TV when I got home from school. I still watch them when they show up on TCM.  I have not seen Francis since I was a kid!

I was well into my late 20s when Skippy appeared - do you know they used a stuffed kangaroo for the closeups.

If you're old enough, you remember The Flying Doctor.

Ditto Chris on living in the country. Until I was 12 we lived in a small town but my grandparents lived in the country and every weekend I was there usually starting on Friday evening ending on Sunday evening during school year but summertime was glorious. We later moved there. If the sun was out I was outside and if it was raining I was building models. Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings the family sat and watched Hee Haw, Mission Impossible, Gunsmoke, Gilligan's Island (oooh, Dawn Wells as Mary Ann) Get Smart, The Untouchables, The High Chaparrell, Twelve O'clock High. A great childhood.
