WWII PT Boat Weapons...

Would it be too far out the realm of battlefield possibilities that a 'few' PT boats may have "scavaged" Army quad .50 caliber gun turrets from wrecked, or inoperable M3 halftracks. As they utilized just about every known type of offensive weapon that could be fitted or carried aboard, and that the quad .50 caliber gun turret was used on Essex class carriers at one time, was curious as to the possibility of them being scavaged for a PT boat.

And, PT-195 had a quad-50 on her foredeck.

actually used operationally by PTRON 29 in the Med. 4 boats had them instead of the 40mm

Yes, but ... Lewin was asking about a quad-50 mount, which was, in fact, mounted to the foredeck of the 195 boat.
