Guys,

I need your help. I'm a plane nut by heart and have no clue about boats, especially from WWII. I was given a German sub model by a friend just because I don't build Nazi sh*^, pardon my French, and i found out that US GIs captured few German boats. So, a quick google search reviled few, but small pics. I even looked for US sub bases during WW2 but again few and small pics. I need y'all help in finding out what kind of stuff submarine base/harbor will have for a diorama project. I was thinking about doing a tug boat next to the sub and a lot of people on the harbor and on the boats. So, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Just a heads-up.

Approximately 170 American, British and Dutch submarines made a total of 416 war patrols out of Fremantle Submarine Base during WW2. This was the second biggest Allied submarine base in 'the Pacific' during World War 2, but OPSEC has meant that hardly anyone knows about it.

we went to new london ct a few years ago for a small vacation and went to the U.S. SUB BASE there on a full tour and we also got to go aboard the NAUTILIS the first nuke boat that went to the north pole and under the ice but the best part about the navy base at new london ct was that there were a lot of fast attack boats and 2 boomers there and all the sailors that man them were on base i am going to try and maybe build a sub but my dad only did tanks and stuff he taught me but he isnt doing all that much any more .....steven jr
