a product called "invisible thread" from any sewing (notions) store. It is the right size in 48th and still looks good in 72nd. yes it will heat shrink

There's a new, stronger type out now made from spectra fibre - problem is, it doesn't take glue. Nylon is fine, it can be stuck with CA and will heat shrink.

Tell them you are looking for invisible thread in black. It comes in several gauges and in clear, smoke, or black, and the coarser ones will probably work with 1/32. It works best if you stretch it to take the "curl" out. CA works well and it can be tightened with heat.

They have a www and also sell via eBay.

That said, I don't like the stuff. I think it's lumpy, esp the thicker of the two available. I went back to fishing line and thread. Never left actually.

I'll use the two rolls of EZ I bought via eBay for tele/power lines on a future HO rr layout or something.

IMHO invisible mending thread (same stuff basically) is significantly too thin for 1/32 scale. You should be able to find rolls of tippet line at any sporting goods store with a fishing section. The stuff I use, Cortland Precision Tippet Material, comes in sizes labeled by test and diameter. I use .004 or .006 inch for 1/48 scale; probably .006 or .008 inch for 1/32. Here's a recent completion -- Roden 1/48 S.E.5a -- using .004 inch line painted with Model Master Metalizer buffing Dark Anodonic Gray.
