Had excellent luck finding an M109A1/A2 and, of course, this has given rise to me wanting a Paladin. Would prefer to trade some things (I have a DML Tiger Late with Cavalier Zimmerit I could part with) and various aircraft in 1/48th and 1/32nd that can go as well. Please ask as I've got quite a bit to trade. We can pay our own shipping if that's acceptable. US residents only, please. Please feel free to contact me offline as well. Thanks very much!

I did a quick search for using both "paladin" and "m109*". Someone has cornered the market on Italeri M109 howitzer kits and has jacked the prices up to around $90-100+. Too much to pay for a mediocre model kit line that requires both major and minor surgery to make an accurate M109 of any variant.

There's another group of 4 kits; 155mm, M110, M107 & M109, that is going for $41. It'll push that high.

I think anyone willing to pay $50 for an M109 kit of any variety (less any aftermarket) is pushing it. I would say that one of the M109 variants with something like a barrel, Skybow tracks or the CMK engine is worth over $50. Even more so if someone had the Trakz(?) turret interior. Now I think the resin turret interior is worth at least that much.

Hence my use of the attic stock for a trade. From what I've read, the work to create a more accurate Paladin is pretty labor intensive, per Rob's cautionary warning. I've no plan to line someone's pockets for an 'okay' kit simply because it's not currently in production. At my snail's pace of model production, it'll be re-released by the time I get around to it. All the more reason to trade for stuff I know I'll never build.

Our eBay friend can sit on his $100 kits til the cows come home...
