I doubt you are going to find a set of woodpecker feet - its a rare kit. Why not try the little feather birds you get in craft stores that have plastic feet with wires in them that you can use on craft projects? They come in different sizes.

Alternatively, just bend two pieces of wire to use as legs and glue them in the bird's body and into the base where the feet go. Then add some toes from epoxy putty.

i sincerely think you need to go this on your own. How hard could crafting a bird's foot or two could it honestly be? What are the chances a mob of ornithologists are going to come down upon you for inaccurate bird's feet? Start with some suitably gauged wire, add some putty, sculpt in some details and let it harden, and paint it. Give it a try, what could it harm?

As the title says your right. Was all set to when a pal said he knew someone. Project on hold, time passed no joy.

Seems the spirit is willing but the flesh has said "no way".

You watch I'll get something knocked up and a dozen will turn up. Ah well such is life. Alfie

Hi Alfie,

Take a look here and see if any of these would do:

http://www.woodcarverssupply.com/products.asp?dept=80

They are intended for bird carvers who generally work in 1:1 scale.

HTH,

Tom

Tom you might just be a life saver. There are a couple of woodpecker sets on there that might be just right.
Sent e mail to them for more details and postage to the UK.
Thanks again Alfie

Glad I could help. Here is a shot of a woodpecker from the Ward World Championship a few years ago. The work these guys do is incredible

I hope yours turns out every bit as well - please post some photos!

Cheers,

Sent for a set of feet , they arrived. Yeah I can get this thing done, er no. The feet looked to small against the Airfix kit feet.

Checked and yes these were the correct ones. So which is right kit or pewter?

Decided to send parts back for refund. Put them in the padded envelope they came in sent them off. Couple of weeks no refund. emailed company , "No we haven't got them" Oh no, wrong envelope. Been on the hunt for them for a few weeks when I had a bright idea, look at the receipt that I got from the post office. Yep sent a few emails away ,low and behold they are in the wrong place. Good thing is they are "winging" their way back from the other place. Moral of the story ...Get your addresses right ! Alfie
