This picture of a salvadoran MD450 Ouragan was taken around 1979-80, it says "500pd bomb" only. Can´t define what type of ordnance this is. Any ideas?

Resembles a WW II US aerial mine/depth charge.

Definitely not a depth charge , under no historical scenario in that time would El Salvador had suffered such a threat! First guess would be a strange obscure french or israeli bomb type (only armament providers back then was israel, all others had a ban on El Salvador). But I could not find any picture resembling it, let alone the double ring circular tail! Well, third one I had not though about, the cluster bomb, I wouldn´t know, have got no reference. And finally, due to the arms sales ban, there were bombs that were locally built... the crude nose cone, not even rounded but straight, makes me think about these (but the tail is much to complicated!).

Well, thanks for your input, if you do find any additional info, I will be grateful for that.
