What is the best 1/35 scale kit to model Iraq T72 as used during the gulf war?

Much of what I've read  listed the Tamiya T72M1 as the best option plus a corrected turret. Most suggestion were dated.  Is there a newer suitable release
now available.  If my option is the Tamiya kit a suggestion for an aftermarket  kit will be appreciated.

From what I've read the their  tanks were mostly  the t72M1?

Thanks

For many years you only had the old Dragon T-72 kits that were made before anyone had any real up close access to a real T-72.  They were also some of Dragon's first ever kits so they just were not that good.  You wouldn't seriously consider the Dragon kits today.  The old Esci kit is even worse.

Tamiya's T-72 was good for its time but Tamiya chose to model an oddball version and they got the shape of the turret really wrong.  It is quite workable (with a new turret) but today there are other, newer T-72 kits.Tamiya's kit also has the original early style wheels.

Now there are good T-72s from Trumpeter and Meng. One of those should fit the bill for you.
