Hello
can anyone provide me some info regarding the colors for the 1/32 tamiya A6m2 zero engine? Tamiya sugests X-18 semi gloss black with some mix colors of blue and grey, which I highly doubt . No silver shade at all ?

No silver to me.
Engine parts are made of cast, turning and miling. They need protective coating so there is few parts left in natural metal.
Metal used are made from complex alloys, or special treatment such as cementation or nitruration. They have various shades and modeler's "natural metal" is usually very basic and caricature looking.

The cylinders can be steel with a black wash, gloss black push rods and aluminum
transmission case for the prop shaft. Works for me.
