IIRC the Tamiya kit got generally good marks, except for the cockpit, which I think was from an era when decals represented the side console details, etc.

I never noticed it on my own, and even knowing it's there doesn't bother me overly much. f you decide to go that route, I suggest reinforcing the seam where the nose attaches to the mid-fuselage assembly with plastic strip or something similar. Todd that would be great. Agreed, the Great Wall kit is the best overall Eagle in 48th. The Hasegawa is still a great kit, even for being dated, but despite the "too high cockpit", intake fit, and the issues you mentioned, it build up well with some AM help. The Academy kit with its fit problems, major shape inaccuracies in the canopy, engine bulges, and area around the speed brake are a no go for me. 2 areas of the GW F-15 that I don't like are the ridiculously squashed intake ducts and too long Exhaust nozzles. For the former, there are replacements out there, but no corrected intake ducts yet.cboehlein wrote:Being a former F-15 crew chief, I notice the little things on these kits.
