So am I the only one who is Super Stoked about this. As said in other forums I hope the tail is retooled and includes the stiffeners. I just put a set of Cross Delta ones on my "A" and it was a Pain in the "A" to remove the molded detail. Please Pass that along to Big "T" . I know this opens things up an for a B in the future and hopefully they follow the F-16 track and do a Late A/B release all in one box and release it in a year or less. I remember With the F-16 they did the block 50 then the 25/32 then the Aggressor, from which you could build any C block 25 up to block 52. Nice one Tamiya.. If they follow that track I will likely have 30+ Tomcats on the shelf to build.  One thing for sure Tamiya knows how to take my money. Seriously they are like a ninja in my wallet😂😂...
So decals VF-213, VF-2, VX-9? Black Bunny, VF-31 who doesn't love Felix right....Any D's pass through Atsugi If so I'd think that could be a decal option. I know VF-154 was there for a Long time so when a late "A" comes around you could almost bet everything that will be an option.  Remember how many times Hasegawa 1/48 F-14's had VF-154 decals. A LOT!
George are you gonna make it to Dallas this year for Eagle Quest? If so hope you have a Display kit!

Hmmm...can't say much as far as the decal options will be since the Tamiya agent meeting will be happening in a couple hours from now, but some of the information discussed will be confidential until the show.

We will try to get a sample of the F-14D for everyone to see at EagleQuest this year as I will be in attendance and hope to see everyone there!

Happy Modeling!

George

The box art looks awesome and it will be bigger for the added goodies.

Yep Take My Money...Any good pictures of the Tail.? Stiffeners? Not having them, that would be the only thing to dampen my enthusiasm

I haven't seen any close ups of that area ...but, it's Tamiya, I don't think there's even a sprue tree here that is in the "A" kit outside of the canopy glass.

EDIT: A look at the VF-213 tail seems to show evidence of the stiffeners.

Quick observations:
  1. The stiffeners for the tail is included.
  2. The RIO reinforcement panel is achieved by a ultra thin sticker similar to the armor plate found Focke-Wulf Fw190 A-8/A-8 R2.
  3. On the same sheet is the TCS reflector.
  4. Intake truck mask included.
