… who believe in a "flat earth," but there are plenty of Youtube videos that claim to prove their stupidity.

"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

This flat earth BS is actually growing.
And it's not just the US, as someone who has spent half his life in Europe and the other half in the US I can tell you that there's no shortage of stupidity, anywhere.
Merely a few qualitative differences, local specialization if you will.
We are clearly regressing on many levels, that's very worrisome.

On a funnier side this (apparently) is what the "Flat Earth Society" posted on their site:

... that its turtles all the way down that hold the flat earth up.

In Australia we keep them all in Tasmania, away from the mainland, where they can interbreed to their hearts content.

(But it does explain why Qantas would not give me an "all around the world" airfare, just made me bounce back from Heathrow. Say, is the edge of the plate out there in the Atlantic? Maybe near Bermuda where the edges of the tabletop are tied together? Hold on, I'll just consult my horoscope ...

[Sounds of Carl Sagan spinning in his grave ... surprising since he didn't believe in an afterlife ... which is another oxymoron, how can there be life after the point life ends ???? where'd I put the tequila ????]
