A few days back one gent (who'd been to a Swedish air museum) noted that some Saab Lansen's used black dots over their regular markings during overflights of Soviet territory. Does anyone know where one might find a pic of a Lance in such markings? Thanks.

the mission flown over Russia was by S31 Spitfires PR XIX NOT, Lansens S32!
The aircrafts had their national rondels replaced by black dots.
We discussed the markings and the mission on Facebook "SAAB LANSEN" Group.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Hi,

I saw such a photo in the F11 museum in Nykoping. The staff there said the roundels were painted out on the lansen for a mission over Soviet territory.

Regards,

Joe
