Revell came out with a completely new (and very nice) F-101B sometime in the early 90s, IIRC. Leaps and bounds above the Matchbox effort, in some ways it reminded me of scaling-down Monogram's F-101B. It was similar in quality to Revell's F-105D and Monogram's F-105G (both in 1/72).

The 1/72 F-105D and -F and the F-101 were pantographed down from Monogram's kits of the machines in 1/48. These molds originated with Monogram, but came out in Revell boxings after the merger of the two firms by a private equity investor.

Nice kits, all of them.

there would be a sizeable advance notice in the modeling press, etc. And, naturlich, there has been....none. Questions, class?
