Didn't Revell-Monogram, not too long ago, have a 1/350 or 1/700 scale Fletcher-class Destroyer kit available that was of an older-mold, reasonably-priced and included a decal sheet with many individual numbers for the hull that allowed it to be built to represent a number of ships? I thought that I saw it on their website a few years ago.
Any yes, I'm aware of the newer 1/1/44 kit; I'm not referring to that one.
Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
Nothin fits that bill out of Monogram
Revell re-released it’s old box-scale kit within the past few years. Google ‘modeler joe kit list’ for a review
The kit scales out to a bastard 1:305 scale. It was originally released in 1954. The details and quality are — did I mention that the kit was released in 1954?
The kit has been released under several different names.
IIRC, Revell Germany also re-released the old Matchbox 1:700 scale Fletcher. Multi-color plastic and deep trench lines. Detail is minimal. The best part
May be the gunhouses. At one time they were the most accurately scaled available. (That train has left the station)
For nostalgia - have a go, but there are better and more modern kits available in standard scales, with aftermarket support
