Well got one build out of the way the Frog DH Hornet.

I scratched a basic cockpit as it needed something there.  Overall a few modifications

1. increased the size of the tail fin as it was undersized
2. Scratched a cockpit and used a plunge mold canopy courtesy of David Womby
3. Slightly lengthened the nose with the majority of the work being on the underside
4. Kit exhausts looked too Mosquito like, so decreased the pipe length and improved the gaps between each pipe
5. Added some brake piping on the undercarriage
6. Re-profiled the main wings to get rid of the look of a plank about it

I decided on a decal sheet by Freightdogs "RAF Post-War Collection Pt.1" for a DH Hornet F.Mk.3, 80 Squadron, RAF, Kai Tak, Hong Kong,1954.  Thought about the Squadron markings for a few day as the ones provided were Mauve/Gold.  Some research and colour photos later I redid these as Maroon/Gold.

Overall a nice build and some fun in the process

I am happy with how it came out and the improved appearance with the slightly larger plunge mold canopy.

Thanks to William for the kit and David for the canopy.

Cheers

Fred

PS No sheet-sander was tortured in this build :-)

Lovely job, as usual, Fred.   I'm glad the canopy worked for you.  I think the Frog one let's the kit down a bit.

Great finish and choice of markings.
