R-3350 Piston

I picked up a piston from a Wright R-3350 engine- used in B-29's, Skyraiders and Constellation airliners. At 6" in diameter, this was the largest diameter US Aircraft piston ever used, and used in the second largest US aircraft piston engine (the largest being the Pratt & Whitney R-4360). 

Next to it is spray paint can - which is about the same diameter as the pistons in many car engines!

Way cool.  A lot of older V-8 muscle car engine bores are around 4" so this piston is still a large chunk of aluminum.  NICE score.
