Re my earlier request about a couple of 1/48 Tornado jets.
Having looked at the sprues there are no makers names,so finding out what they are is , for me difficult. All that's one the sprue is a number 9176-02 and tornado F3.
Plastic is light grey and is on six sprues.
The other is off sprues and is dark grey. There are two "bunker busting bombs" in the same dark grey colour but not in the other. This has 9176-05 but has 1/48 Tornado F3 on it too.
instructions are for GR1/GR1A and GR4/GR4A both from Airfix. Decals are from neither kit! Three sets of them, near enough.
Are these the same kit or what? Is there difference between an F3 and the GR ones on the outside?
So to help me find out really who made these has anyone got anything on which makers did a 1/48 Tornado F3 and has , or can show me where to get them, pictures of the parts on the sprues.
Cannot find out how to post pictures of the kits so that's a bit of a bind.
Any info will be followed up. Thanks in advance.

Decal sheets should have kit numbers on them, which you can compare with the Scalemates listings to figure out which boxing they came from:https://www.scalemates.com/kits/993571- ... tornado-f3
The plastic in the two kits is largely identical. The biggest difference being that Airfix tooled separate fuselages for the F3 (ADV) and Gr1 (IDS) versions. Presumably the sprue that says "Tornado F3" contains a fuselage half, and is for the Tornado F3.
There are significant differences between the F3 and Gr fuselages. The F3 has a different radome, which is longer and pointier, where the Gr- aircraft are shorter and stubbier. The F3 also has a 1.3m long plug installed aft of the cockpit - about 1" in 1/48. The length is most noticeable if you compare the front of the intake with the middle frame on the canopy: on the Gr aircraft, the intake lip is slightly in front of the canopy frame; on the F3, it's noticeably aft of the canopy frame. Both the radome and fuselage differences are quite obvious in profile photos:

As for other kits, Italeri, Hobby Boss and Revell have also released 1/48 Tornado F3 kits. It's fairly easy to tell the difference from the fuselage and wing breakdown.
Compared to the simple upper/lower fuselage halves of Airfix, Italeri has a complex, multi-part fuselage breakdown:http://kits.kitreview.com/italeri2648reviewme_1.htm (link shows the IDS, but the ADV is broadly similar). Hobby Boss has a similar breakdown but includes poseable control surfaces:https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits ... 0353.shtml. Revell has a frankly ridiculous, but totally unique fuselage breakdown:http://www.ipmsdeutschland.de/FirstLook ... 3_ADV.html
