It is not on Eduard's web site yet, but they just posted this on their Facebook page. Eduard will be releasing a limited edition of the Academy P-38J in 1/48 scale with resin parts including a new Brassin cockpit. The pit will be offered as a separate part too. It looks really nice! To be released in July.

Here's the box:

With them doing this one; there's at least hope of them doing F-5's. Dare we hope for a F-4 or two?

Maybe time to start thinking about doing some resin? Many great subject abound in this sandbox....

If only there were more time to "play" with such things. Still...will have to get one for the stash!

Cheers!

Rich

82nd Fighter Group, 97th Fighter Squadron, to be exact. This group has been totally overlooked and was the 3rd highest scoring P-38 group in the USAAF. The 1st and 14th Fighter groups haven't faired much better.

Cheers, Terry

There's not enough P-38 decals presently available for any theater. The most recent ones I recall are from the ETO and MTO (Warbirds). I thought I recently saw where someone is going to release decals for the P-38s (Scat) that Robin Olds flew. If you count sheets released through the years, I think you would agree that at least the ETO was about as well represented as the PTO.

Not only are there many PTO P-38 markings left to be decaled, there are ones that have been decaled that need corrected. For example, AFAIK, Putt Putt Maru hasn't had the right colored numbers on the set or two that have been offered in the past (unless the ancient Microscale sheet got it right). There are many planes of the 475th FG that had interesting/colorful markings and I would really like to see more of them done in 1/48.
