I'd like to say the dreadful photography was done by a semi literate chimpanzee but sadly it was me

Lovely work as usual from you, and a belated but very heartfelt THANK YOU for sending the parts up my way in order to finish the Sea Fury; that's now on short final to be done within the next week or so, at long last.

Nothing like a Kiwi bird to put the fear of god into their enemies!

As far as your photography, you need two simple things to take much better images. More light, and a plain background.

I use two 100 watt swing arm lamps positioned as close as I can get them so that they are not actually in the image, and a few different heavy colored large poster paper backgrounds. Don't forget to set your camera for tungsten lighting to defeat the orange cast. Also, a tripod is very handy, although I get enough light so that most shots are taken at about 1/100th second hand held.

Easy. Just takes a small investment and a little practice.

HTH.
