Need some help on repairing figures

I've looked and can't find anything. Hoping somebody here can help. One of my adult sons collects/trades in comic book-based figures/statues. I'm talking mid- to high-end figurines and statues - Cable, Ghost Rider, Deadshot, etc. Collector and semi-collector stuff.

Problem is that sometimes there's a minor flaw, defect, or slight damage to a figure. He brings them to me (the modeler in the family) and we can usually work out an acceptable approach, but there are a lot of unknowns from my perspective. And he wants to be able to fix them himself.

MY QUESTION IS: Does anyone know of, or know where I might find/look for any books on how these figures are made, the materials and paints used, and strategies and techniques for repairing them?

Any help will be appreciated! :^)

But, some ideas - you could contact individual companies and explain that you have one of their figures and need to do a minor repair and see if they have any suggestions or recommendations.

There are probably some Facebook groups dedicated to these figures and with members who have had to do similar repairs and fixes. I'd start by looking there.

Are you talking about Polystone busts and figures?

I don't have any info but I would become a member at the Clubhouse forums
http://theclubhouse1.net/ There are many guys on the forum who sculpt and work for the companies that make these or they know someone who does.

Sideshow has youtube videos on how they repair and what they use to repair their figures they sell. Might be a good starting point. Here is a video I just looked at today.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mm974A4JcM
