Need some help identifying suitable material for scratch building

I am with Dynajeff on this. What you have there is a giant version of 4" spiral wound dryer ducting. Take a piece of solder and bend to shape. Wrap it in thin wire(copper is flexible) and then wrap it in some sort of covering. I would say heat shrink is a good choice, if it shrinks down tight enough. Teflon tape, saran wrap, stretched electrical tape or ???? are also possible choices. Even a scrap of RC aircraft heat shrink covering might work. You could also paint it with some sort of rubber cement or similar to get the effect.
