The Kiefner-Kane Museum at the Jefferson Barracks National Guard Base in St. Louis had a WW1 German 37mm., shoulder fired rifle. It had a crude bipod on the front. To fire, the shooter had to drive a special stake into the ground and put the rifle butt plate on one side of the stake and his shoulder on the other. You had to be one big, dumb Kraut to try that. I got to actually pick it up when I was stationed there. It had to have weighed 50 pounds at least. Adios, Larry.

Field Artillery brings dignity to what otherwise might be merely a vulgar brawl.

A mile down range.

Too heavy and too much recoil for shoulder fire. After all of the fabrication, they couldn't make a tripod for it?

Just point it in the general direction and it has to hit something.
