Following in the wake of Photobucket's ransom tactics, i've given up on them. I'm posting everything to Flickr now.

One i achieve "Critical Mass" in terms of photos i'll upload to Flickr, then figure out how to post em here.

Of course the IR sensor on the nose and the raised detail for the slime lights...these were not on the early 101's /..esp. the era you want to do.

While some lines on the Monogram models in the series of that era may be a bit higher than some consider appropriate, they can be lightly wet-sanded with 400 or 600 to give a nice panel-line effect !!

Happy modeling, George
Yes !
Making my 1/48 Monogram F-4 Phantom II, molded in dark olive green, some Years
ago, I used this approach by painting and decaling, then lightly sanded with
Tamiya 1000, including decals, to reveal that raised panels, clean up the moldel and sealed with semi-gloss cote.
I understand the engineering or industry limitations of model makers but
aircrafts do not have "recessed panels" like those represented on models.

Anyway, life goes on...

The vents on top of the mid engine fairings are different and Monogram made them the same.

Yup and that is why I still have a hole in my Monogram Voodoo for years now. I thought I could make that new rectangular vent on the starboard side but no luck so far. Maybe with the new KH kit coming and it having the sameproblem someone like quick boost would provide something? Or Eduard even?

I hade started to rescribe the kit and have one side done. Lots more to go.
