Today I bought the new Revell of Germany Ventura and the box is so big that I had problems finding a place on the shelf.I had an empty box of an Italeri F-16 and after removing the wings and the fuselage from their sprues the whole kit easily fits inside the smaller box.All the other parts are still on the sprues.

Really? The box it comes in in Canada is actually a lot smaller than I expected, I doubt you could fit a B-17 in it.

I just wish ROG would do normal top opening boxes ala Tamiya, Hasegawa, Eduard, etc etc and better instructions and better paint call outs rather than their usuall way of doing things

I bet if you came to your local HS, and there was a new Ventura kit, it would make a bigger impression on you with the box of that size, not the half of it, right? The stronger the impression, the stronger the will to buy it. However, I agree that they could save more wood with the half-sized box.

Cheers!

Makes sense, bigger box vs. smaller box = better value
