From VF-51.

First, the kit says, "For experienced modelers only", which as it turns out, excludes me.

Scrath built;

1. The canopy opening mechanism (the FJ-1's was very prominent).
2. The rear bulkjead to the pit (it was missing).
3. The pitot tube (the kit one was lost to the carpet monster).
4. The can (I crushed the kit one with my foot).
5. The fuel dump pipe (the kit one looked silly).

I fixed the molded over gun ports, with careful excavation, and added a peice or scrap acetate to the gunsight.

I hope you like it.

Now for something easy, I'm working on a Tamiya Mustang for sanity's sake.

(An aside; the while cleaning my airbrush after the final shot of clearcoat my compressor took a crap. Now I got old Thunder out, which is so loud that my wife has my looking at replacements).

All the little details you've added really kick it. Nice recovery on the wing. She looks really good. What did you use for the aerial? looks nice and fine. awesome build. Mustang sounds like a good choice. Enjoy your new compressor! Tom

The aerial is nylon thread, and as usual was a PITA, mostly my own fault.

Thanks again!

Excellent work. The fight looks like it was well worth it. What a funky looking jet, how 50s.
