G'Day All,

Been a while since the last updates, but the Aircraft Carrier is still being built.

Primed it with Rustoleum black primer and painted with Gunze and Tamiya paint for the main body.
Details picked out with Model Master, Gunze and Tamiya paint.
Can't remember the actual paint colours used - except the Gloss Black and Red.

Decals were fun - they applied nicely and settled down with Gunze Mr Mark Setter and Mr Mark Softer.  The longer deck markings are in multiple pieces too some effort to keep straight.

Used Humbrol Dark Gray wash to weather it and added rust stains with Humbrol Rust wash and gray stains with Mig Ammo Starship Filth Oilbrusher.
Added some Mig Ammo Fuel Stains around the parking areas on the desk

Aircraft and deck equipment are being hand painted.  I'll be using Tamiya Brown and Black panel line accent to weather them.

Thanks

cheers
Mark

Nice job! I’ve built 4 of this Italeri Nimitz class ships over the years. They’re still fun projects.  Here’s a Reagan I built last year for a man who’s son is serving aboard her.

sweeeeeeet ...

I just finished painting the canopies - man even with several magnifying glasses, I had trouble seeing the details ...
and all those decals - the aircraft don't need them, you can hardly see them on the finish planes ...

The fun part I've had, is finding what color to paint the support equipment.  Are they Yellow or White or what ...
Thanks

cheers
Mark

I thought the national insignias for the planes were overscale so I left them off. I painted them all gray and put three CAG birds in the mix.  I think they were VAW-115, VFA-102 and VFA-27 for Carrier Air Wing 5 assigned to Reagan.

Can’t wait to see yours finished. I really enjoy small scale ships.

Most pics of modern support equipment show white to be the correct color.
