A forward pass is complete when a receiver clearly possesses the pass and touches the ground with both feet inbounds while in possession of the ball. If a receiver would have landed inbounds with both feet but is carried or pushed out of bounds while maintaining possession of the ball, pass is complete at the out-of-bounds spot.

The key is clearly possessed. As long as the ball is bobbling around or knocked out before the receiver can perform a clear football move, it's incomplete. There's been a lot of calls this year that met that criteria, and with the exception of the Packers game (I'm a Fan! Go Pack!) when the refs clearly missed at least 2 calls favoring the Giants, the refs have been pretty consistent.

Possession must be established and maintained throughout the catch. Anywhere else on the field of play, that still would have been ruled incomplete.

His hands were actually OFF the ball by the time his left foot touched the ground; he should have cradled it, which I'm sure he knows by now. I really wanted the Ravens to win this, but that was absolutely the right call by the officials. Fair is fair.
