Hasegawa or Academy for 1/72 F-35A

I've pretty much done my homework and it's one of these
two. From what I see Academy's has more detailing as far as
weapons and bells and whistles but raised panels. Supposedly
Hasegawa's is more accurate and uses decals for the panel lines.
I never had real good luck with Hasegawa decals, do they do the
trick this time. I am not a big fan of open doors and hatches
so Academy's show and tell options don't mean that much to me.
I guess I'll go with Hasegawa, just a little concerned with the
decals.---John

Decals. .

I've always had good luck with Mr. Mark products on Hasagawa and Tamiya decals. For that mater all decals. Give it a try.

Be sure to use very warm water for the Hasegawa decals

Hi John,

One of the tricks I found to be very helpful with Hasegawa decals is to use very warm water for soaking them. I get hot water from the tap (using a large ceramic mug) and then keep the mug on a coffee cup warmer to help maintain the temp. This allows them to release faster from the paper and seems to improve their ability to conform to surfaces. Also, as previously noted, I've found that Mr. Mark Softer works better on these decals than Micro-Set or Sol. Good luck!

CHeers,

Mike
