GMM Ultra-fine reling still the best in 1/700?

GMM Ultra-fine reling still the best in 1/700?

Gentlemen,
the question in the title says it all. I am a few years away from shipbuilding now and currently thinking about restarting with Dragon's Z-39 destroyer. Would GMM's set still be the first choice for the relings or has it been surpassed in the meantime? What are your opinions or recommendations?

Kind regards,
Frank

Our Superfine (PE 795) and Ultrafine (PE 796) rails & ladders are both finer than GMM's,

but GMM remains a good product.

... also some curved sections in your ultrafine set? Unfortunately the site has no picture...

Hi Frank,

No, straight runs only. The difficulty with generic curved sections is that there are so many variations of curvature that application to specific models would be very limited.

super delicate. WEM's stuff is a little stiffer and easier for me to work with. Either one is like working with spiderwebs, it's not very forgiving, but I have better luck with WEM stuff. I have sheets of WEM, GMM, and Tom's and they all are slightly different. There are days they work and days they don't. It has very little to do with the maker, it's more of whether or not my Zen is right. 1/700 fine railings are almost too delicate for a human to use. Or at least a human like me with ham fists.

... and which are the most convincing looking relings in your opinion?
