In the St. Louis Blues marching scene in the background is a DC-3, a small plane and I think an Albatross (not WWII I think)

a few seconds later the same background as 2 DC-3s and no Albatross....

It was a Norseman, correct? Remember, this was made in the early 50s. Very limited special effects. Now with CGI, not getting it right is just laziness.JMHO.

what happened to him? I've seen a couple of articles on the mystery over the years but nothing official.

a/c hit by RAF bomb jettisoned from a/c returning from aborted mission. BUT the others run the gamit from lung cancer to killed in brothel fight!

Of course that show may have had his plane having a mis-air w/flight 19....

that like Dale said talked abot an RAF airmens diary or log book being found and showing an entry about a Norseman being hit by jettisoned bombs.Based on the information and timing of Miller's flight and the RAF flight location it was believed to be how his plane was lost.

and ended up at the bottom of the channel somewhere - something akin to the Amelia saga.
