Hi all, can any one tell me what period in time the RAAF used this color and what FS number it is (if there is one)? TIA.

I lightened mine a bit with several drops of white.

It's more of a semi-gloss as well, not dead flat...(n/t)

If this is showing up as a semi gloss, it would be 26118. The first digit in the FS595a reflects (pun intended) reflectance - 1 is gloss, 2 is semigloss, 3 is flat (matte for the rest of the world).

Of course I'm obnoxious - it's a service I provide.

The ex USAF F111Gs were delivered in this scheme in 1992, and the existing F111C/RF111C fleet was repainted over subsequent years during depot level maintenance.

Yes, there is a very slight sheen to the paint when new but it doesn't last all that long. In particular the sealant in seams breaks down and fades. Check out a build article or two here on Hyperscale.

for scale effect. I have yet to see a filthy Aussie 111 painted in this scheme and as Jim says, they have a sheen but not quite semi gloss. You should check out Jims outstanding article on the retirement of the Aussie jets in the April issue of Scale Aircraft Modelling.

But I wouldn't say its semi gloss either.

This picture was taken at the 2010 Singapore Airshow of the Aussie F-111C. I'll try to upload the rest of the pics up to my blog.

Just can't wait to build the hobbyboss one
