Exactly - I will be retaining a image hosting service, in my case Imgur. However the Tapatalk system is nevertheless great for this forum. 
Yes, it is convenient.  I wonder how much space is available.  We've always had an image-rich forum, and I wonder if we'll approach the limit on available space, and how quicky.  And then, at that time, I'd bet that uploading images directly would have to be limited in some way.

Brett has posted that he's got a premium level account with Tapatalk and thinks there's no storage limit.

Don't mind me, I'm just testing something else, to see if a pic still shows after being renumbered within my files. I remember this being a problem with Photobucket. Hopefully now that won't hurt anymore. BTW I keep this one to remind myself not to paint the framework around Malcolm hoods: PictureZ51-51-0126.jpg PictureZ51-0126.jpg YAY! Renumbered and they're both still here, good!
