Hello All,
Can Dupli-Color primer be used on styrene models? It contains Ketones and Toluene, so the label says, don't klnow what else is in there. Will this primer hurt and or destroy the plastic? Can enemel paint be used right over this primer without any reaction to the paint and or plastic? Thank you.

Its good to TEST the stuff first... But yes I have used Duplicolor automotive primer off and on for many years with no problems. I prefer the Plastikote stuff myself as I think it goes on thinner/smoother.

One type contains a talc like filler. The other type of primer is called Primer Sealer which does not contain filler and therefore will not hide model details.

Or have used that one. If you look at a lot of primers many are a two part series or they make two kinds of the stuff. I forget the brand I use now but it is VERY find and smooth; very similar to Tamiya spray primer.
