Czech Master Resin Curtiss Sparrowhawk 1/72

I've always been fascinated by the Curtiss Sparrowhawk fighters designed to be carried by the airships U.S.S. Akron and U.S.S. Macon.  Years ago I made an attempt at the Pegasus injection molded kit and it never got past the basic assembly stage, it still sits on my shelf of doom.  I picked up the Eagle's Talon vac kit but never did much more than admire it.  A few months ago I picked up the Czech Master Resin kit and it recently made its way to my bench.  Pretty nice kit, no major fit problems or holes in the resin to fill.  Any problems I had were of my own doing, for instance I accidently crushed the nice slotted piece for the front of the engine and had to smash mold a replacement and hand cut all the slots in it.  Sharp-eyed readers familiar with the type will see that I didn't try to replicate the double rigging wires, I've never been able to pull that off with my rigging method and it would have been doubly hard (no pun intended) considering the tight spaces involved.  Even the real plane had a notch cut in the rear of the main landing gear fairing for a wire to pass through.  For the same reasons I'm not going to attempt to replicate the complex antennas, my eyes are too old for that!

Thanks for looking,

Dan

Good job on that, I did the Pegasus one years ago. It really is a tiny thing in 1/72.

Schnazzy, ECDan!  That is a really neat job.  It's one of my favorites too.  I've always wanted to make the big Williams Brothers model.  Yours is sweet.

Very Nice Work.  I have a Williams Bros 1/32 scale F9C-2 ready for decals.  I just hope mine come out as well as yours.
