Great pic! I had read that all of the actors enjoyed themselves on that picture. It shows in that photo!

Oh yeah, I LOVE that film! "Ensign Pulver", not so much...

Mr. Roberts takes me to a small ship in the Pacific. Someday I would love to do a model of her. Palm tree with a chain around it and all.

It would be fun to place a bunch of crew towards the bow with telescopes etc. looking intently to starboard.

Glad you guys liked the pic.

My favorite part is James Cagney's tirade after Henry Fonda throws the palm tree overboard.

A few others who were in that movie:

Phil Carey ("Laredo" and Granny Goose commercials)

Nick Adams (TV series "The Rebel" and Andy Griffith's pal Witledge in "No Time for Seargents")

Ken Curtis (Sons of the Pioneers and Festus on "Gunsoke")

Jim

everyone knows a "know-it-all" - he may be as close as the mirror

Has any one thought of "The Caine Mutiny" as a counterpoint to "Mr. Roberts"?
Years back after seeing both movies many times on TV I started think that might be some relationship between the two movie almost as if "The Caine Mutiny" was written as a counterpoint or inverted ..a "Mr. Roberts" from a different perspective ...

If as if some one recast the writer of Mr. Roberts" and his story he wrote as
"The Caine Mutiny's" Fred MacMurray / Lt Thomas Keefer "the aspiring Writer" that is really just duplicitous instigator of all the Capt problems who then would go on to write a "Mr. Roberts" like story with himself as the "hero"
