Damn thing fell out of my hand and I can't locate it. The front headlight part is gone...I am hoping someone has a trashed M1A1 they can part with the headlight. Please let me know. I put in a lot of work in this thing and really want to complete it. It's my second tank model!

PS: I did have those posted in Tank Talk, but figured I might try here.

Should be very simple to make

An easy way would be to just make an open backed mold from the remaining kit part using something like Alumalite Mold Putty, and cast one in resin.

But, you could make one from plastic sheet pretty easily. I would cut the oval shaped housing out of somewhat thick plastic and sand it to shape. The small slit like light on the right can be replicated with some black decal or paint. For the large left lens, take another piece of thin plastic, and drill a hole in it to replicate the recessed light. Trim the thin plastic around the hole to represent the rim of the light, and glue it to your light housing. Then sand the outer edge to match the housing.

With some paint and a bit of clear gloss the flat lens recessed inside the housing will look okay.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that's lost this part!

First tank kit I ever did was right after Gulf War I and it was a Tamiya M1, I lost the headlight on it as well.

Ended up carving a replacement from some sprue and made it "close enough"

Maybe your lost one is not hanging out with mine

Good luck
