I was just wondering if clear resin canopies could be polished? I have a piece that has some sort of blemish on top and I was wondering if I could go the route that Dave Aungst took with his recent build report of his extraordinary F-106B here on Hyperscale. He did a great job with that F-106B canopy (granted it was injection molded plastic).
So I was wondering if I could do the same with clear resin canopy?
Thanks in advance
Clear resin is an Aliphatic Urethane in composition.
Which means "Do Not" use anything to polish that type of urethane that contains alcohol. Alcohol attack and hazes Aliphatic urethanes.
We have wet sanded and polished clear resin parts her at the office with Meguirs automotive products.
Doesn't hurt to dip the resin part in Future afterwards to enhance the clarity.
