Marcus says we have a few new kits coming from Tamiya in the armour and aircraft range but that he can't reveal what it is.

I am excited that Tamiya has a new product on the way.

My predictions?

1/48 Tamiya F-4B/N Phantom

And the "Holy Grail" of the model empire, a 1/32 F4U-1A/D Corsair!!!

You read it here first when it comes true.

If it could only be true! I know it'd be huge - but I'd find the room!

I can't imagine there is a military vehicle anywhere in the world in any scale that has not already been done, but if there is, Tamiya probably has it on their to do list.
One thing for sure, trying to read their tea leaves is an futile effort.
And burning electrons over speculation is even more futile.

Such as a 1/72 Beaufighter.

But if they were to do a MS.406 or Blenheim in 1/48 I'd about spit!

Or how about the Bedford QL, or the AEC Matador trucks? In just about any scale?

We have every stinking one-off or drunken party paper napkin sketch design ever even joked about by German designers, yet there are still many important gaps in the British military vehicle family tree.

True, there have been a surprising number of new, state of the art toolings of British Subjects, but it will be years before all of the important gaps start to be finally plugged.

C'mon guys. How about a list of British vehicles that have never been kitted, or badly need updating?

No need at all to replace it. Now, they could surely shrink down the He-219 to replace that awful mess of a kit from Dragon.

Or the P-51B... please!

Or the Spit IX series in 48th and 72nd... PLEASE!!!!

How about a beautiful new tool OOB Sea Fury in all 3 scales!

Happy Modelling! Roy

Oh,

Yes I like the Hasegawa Beaufighter too (built one in Australian colours and still have two in my stack)

Tamiya 1/72 : He-219 yes, P-51B yes..

and why not the definitive F-16 in our scale as the Hasegawa model is quite good but old and lacks updated surface and interior details and Academy somehow has good surface and updated details but no-so-good shapes..

Cheers

Eric B.
