This the new Airfix (naturally) Hawk 81.

A beautiful kit and wonderful to build.

My only nit is the lower roundels be a darker color and not sun-faded liketh etop.

Would not the roundels under the wings be in shadow most of the time, and therefore be less faded than those on the upper surfaces?

only asking

Others may know more

I guess I was not that clear. That is the issue. The under wing roundels are faded like the top. They should be a darker blue. Like I say, it is only a nit to pick. it is one nice kit to build.

Nice AVG and I agree with you that the roundel fading was overdone by Airfix

it's another one of these new Airfix beauties I'd love to build. Want to but have too many other started languishing projects. Nice presentation though and whose colors/paints did you use? Keep up the good work.

IF it really bothers you and you want to do some more AVG a/c, you can get this sheet...

Or the Super Scale International Flying Tiger sheet, 72-10

I have that one on the to-do list, yours came out great !!!

Thanks,
Allan

Thank you. I used Polly Scale throughout. Knowing the debate over US versions of RAF colors, I added a little light gray to each color and called it good.
