hehehe ... next to the P-47 Thunderbolt and F-111, the Whimpy is next in line for popular kits that I have.

So, meet the Matchbox Vickers Wellington.

Just started on this kit, so not much build action, so here are the parts breakdown ...
This one will be a Mk XIV in RAAF markings from 458 SQN.

Now THAT is fantastic box art. And I love the soft geodesic detail in the wing surfaces. Should be a fun and challenging build.

Matchbox have been the only kit makers to get that geodesic pattern right.

As a matter of passing interest, Wellington Mk XIV NB891/"F" was occasionally flown by one FO L. Theile, better known post-war as the actor Leonard Teale.
