I've made quite a bit of progress on this without any more mishaps so at the risk of jinxing things I'll post a few photos.  I managed not to break off any of the struts while painting both sides of the upper wing and the whole thing snapped right into place when it was time to join it to the rest of the plane.  Every strut fit into its corresponding hole in the lower wing and fuselage and it was easy to touch just a tiny drop of thin CA to each joint to lock it together.  Very impressive for an old kit.

I did spend a little time looking around for a different paint and markings scheme but in the end I decided to go with the scheme Airfix provided for in the box- the machine used by Majors Cadbury and Leckie to shoot down Zeppelin L70.

I've still got a lot of the smaller details to add, exhausts, prop, rear gun and mount, etc.  Then there's all the rigging to tackle!

Hello Dan,
That has come together frightfully well.
I'm glad that the gremlins have stayed away from your build.
Very inspiring (and reassuring), that this kit produces such a satisfying result.
Looking forward to your end game with the final touches added.

Looking very nice, do you want to include this in the RAF100GB as the build is in the relevant time frame

Yes Fred, please include it in the RAF100GB.  I should have finished photos up sometime this morning (fingers crossed!).
