Burbank Hobbies in LA, via eBay, for some factory builts. You'll save even more if you're outta Calif and the 8-10% sales tax here. Nothing to sneeze at w/ an $80+ item.

They have good prices and post items very fast.

I buy 80% of my 43rd kits from Grand Prix Models in England. Not the best best prices but great customer service and inventory. Tho sometimes oos or quickly sold out.

Remember that even the big boys in 43rd builts (good 43rd builts, not some of the toy crap out there), Spark, Bizarre, True Scale, etc, only produce a few 1000, or less in some case, of each new model for the worldwide mkt. If you see something you really like/want, prob best to buy it now even if you think the price is 10% too high, or you may be hunting on eBay for yrs.

They have some 1/43 scale stuff but mostly 1/24 and are in Missouri.
eBay is probably your best bet or hitting the vendor tables at the local shows.
Hth!

Grand Prix Models was (and I understand, still is) among the best sources of 43rd kits and builts in the world. Was trying to re-kindle the passion I had for this scale but a recent visit (been away for more than 10 years) to GPMs website showed the prices to have gotten a little out of my comfort zone. I am impressed with LeMans Miniatures prices for 24th scale curbsides though...very reasonable and competitive with Fisher's in same scale.

The market for 1/43 kits has pretty much dried up. Of the 'major' producers all that are left are Marsh, Tameo, This Way Up, SMTS and Renaissance There are a few smaller makers but that's it. As for US distributors - Mini Grid (OK, Canadian) has cut way back in kits - they've gone to slot cars. You best bet is a certain auction site - though Marsh is coming out with a line of GT40s in the next little while. The best source for kits - as many have mentioned - is GPM.
MA Scale Models has been mentioned - their kits are far cheaper than Marsh but compare the two makes.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I've been out of it for a while. Recently looking through GPMs site, I noticed the lack of several names that were the top dogs in resin: Starter and Provence Moulage for two. Any idea what happened to them? Did the financial crash (lack of customers) do them in?

time to time, usually rally/WRCs, probably as contracts for teams/manufs. They're now called, and have been for about 6-8 yrs, PMA. They released 2-3 2011/12 WRC season resin kits back in April 2013 along w/ a few metal kits of older rally cars, in co-op w/ Arena.

Starter's been out of the picture since before the '07/08 crash. I think what really did them in were all the 'cheap' ready builts (some admittedly good) coming outta the PRC.

I think Starter was gone 7-8 yrs ago. PM slowed way down a couple yrs later. PM never ever resumed their doz plus new releases each and every month (but Aug) output from the good old days back in the 80s.
