Much smaller.

I just finished Revell's 1/530 Oriskany aircraft carrier.

And of course it's got aircraft.

So I'm going to let you see them.

And on the carrier...

I'm not putting this in "ship chat" because it's not up to standard for those guys.

She looks really nice Jim. Being mainly an aircraft guy, the ship kits I do have are mainly aircraft carriers. Looking forward to seeing your P-51B & Mirage F-1 builds. Are you using the Sweet kit for the P-51B? I have the old Revell 1/144 kit.

Why are you looking here?
Nothing to see here.
These are not the droids you're looking for.

The air groups in those kits were always interesting, and you'd often get a collection that wouldn't be seen together, or one or two types that couldn't have operated from the real ship (F-8s in the USS Wasp issue or F-4s in the USS Lexington issue - yeah, I know Phantoms were tested aboard Intrepid but they were never operational aboard the Essexes). The USS Hornet reissue was rare in that all the types in the included air group (Trackers, Tracers and Sea Kings) fit with the ship. Then again, since the ship's radar/sensor fit was never updated in that kit or changed for any of the variants, it's all kind of moot!

Jim, it makes me happy any time one of those kits gets built. It's an old friend and I've built a ton of them, and I'm happy to see another one brought to life. (And if pressed you can always say those S-2s are C-1 Traders; in 1:530 they pretty much look alike.)
