As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.

Green loop was approx. 2500 miles each way with a truck and trailer.
My Uncle and I did it in four days each way and it cost a fortune in fuel.

Red loop was a lot more fun. 3400 miles over 12 days. Only 2 had rain.
Saw lots of stuff, ate a lot of food, slept somewhere new every night and generally had a great time.

Allan,

It is good to hear this year's trip was successful. I am dying to hear the details, when you have a chance to post them, particularly what did you and your Scottish relatives enjoy most?

Hey Allan,
Looks like you created another great memory with another amazing trip. I wish you could have ridden the Going to the Sun hwy....it's breathtaking.....although you did hit a lot of the highlights in the west.
I made it up Mt. Evans this year (14,271 ft.) and I'm happy to tell you that all six carbs ran flawlessly. I was by myself and left the trailer at the campground but never once did it feel like I was losing power. We rode the Rookies around Denver, Black Hills, Yellowstone and Glacier National this year. Each trip I am reminded how blessed we are to be able to ride freely among such stunning scenery. You guys really do have some beautiful country for riding.
