I did it! I went for a run!!!

well, more like a jog but that conjures up images of polyester/sweats jogging suits doesn't it?? lol

I am following the program listed out on the site from the couch-to-5k.

So I spent 20-30 minutes actually exercising !

I feel great and I hope I didn't injure myself (just kidding, sort of) I tried to take it easy, not be all frothy at the mouth about it--something I tend to do with new exercise.

also, I went swimming Monday evening! with a friend who talked me and two other women through an aqua-fit program. It was awesome. She goes 2-3 times a week anyways and I am going to ask her to bring me at least twice a week (she drives, I don't--I should live in Manhattan with my attitude)

I haven't fulfilled my 1-2lbs loss on the way to losing 10lbs by December 25th but maybe with this extra exercise (as long as I don't eat eat eat), I am hoping to lose it easy peasy (tongue in cheek)

oh, still low-carbing, mostly.
AND DH is out of town for a week (LA and ARizona trip) so I was asleep by 230am last night (WTH??) not a good start but still managed to do this jog.

Hope you kids are doing as well of not better than my progress

The couch-to-5k is a great program. I did it many years ago, after R & G were born, and it was a fantastic way to ease into running (well, jogging for me, too. I was always very slow, and my short legs didn't help). I wish I could join you, but I know it would be too much for my back.

I'm not weighing in until Friday, I think. I didn't do great eating-wise these past few days. I blame my period...damn bloody hateful thing! lol But I am putting in a lot of exercise. I had a spinning class today after a few weeks off, and I feel good!

goal: ten pounds less by Christmas
diet type: reduced calorie, mindful
exercise: exercise bike at home 5x, one spinning class at the Y, two TRX classes a week
weight loss: will report on Friday

That should keep me on the straight and narrow during the week and allow for some leeway on the weekends. I think I'm better at being disciplined when I have a Friday report date too.

After DS' birthday and many excuses to eat whatever junk food whenever I want, it's time to start getting more control and go back to low carbing.

I need to get a bit of control back and lose a little extra weight going into the holidays so I can indulge without bulging out of my clothes. That's one of my problems. I view losing weight as something I need to do in order to eat more. I need to focus on making more changes and resetting my normal weight to a lower number.

diet type: ???? maybe this is the problem!

exercise:nothing for two weeks--been sick, sick, sick

weight loss: 2.5 pounds--the deceptive seeming upside of being sick, sick, sick! I've never been able to keep off weight lost while sick, but maybe this time I will!

I even had a huge bunch of those teeny tiny chocolate bars (are they getting smaller??) and paid for it for a full 2-3 days with crankiness and anger and depression. Chocolate is really not my friend.
So to cheer me up during those days, I dipped into the non-chocolate stuff. Ugh. I feel so bloated and I am really struggling with the renewed sugar pull.

Nice to see you here, my friend.

so I am glad to see I am not alone in this

I am definitely NOT going to reach my -1lb goal that I wrote in my calendar to get to the -10lbs goal by Dec25th.

and I do like your logic about weighing in on Fridays. Smart!

I love low-carbing, that bloated feeling goes away almost right away. good luck getting into it again, I find the first two days are challenging.
