I got Star Wars: Imperial Assault as a present for my birthday a week ago, and I've started painting up the minis in it, starting with the imperial faction. For being monopose PVC models they're looking pretty nice.

So, no interest in this game then? I thought there might be.

Anyway, here are the Imperial Officers, I went for a blue-green-grey uniform. The next models closest to being finished is the non-Chewie wookie and the Imperial Royal Guard.

Honestly, Star Wars don't tickle my fancy bone.

Very cool, but how many more miniatures games can I buy/ possibly eventually paint / never play?

Thanks Shadespyre. Personally I'm just painting for two games at the moment, this is one of them.

Here's an update:

Love the scarlet Imperial Guard.

One day, I will get around to realizing that painting huge Warhammer armies which I never play with is a waste of time, and I will switch to smaller projects like this which take less time and are easier to pick up and play.

I'll just paint these 50 skeleton warriors first though, ok? ;)

I'd think that one through if I were you. After all, a lot of the appeal of WHFB is that people everywhere play it.

Ie "easier" has a lot of meanings.

Nice painting mate. What kind of game is this for? Is it a boardgame?

Thanks. Yeah, it's a board game with two "settings", a campaign version (RPG lite) and a skirmish game (so as close to a miniatures wargame you can get while still playing on a board with squares).

Sounds cool. Good to get a game in with friends who are not into TT-games. Maybe you can even spark some interest in TT-gaming with such nicely painted mini's.

Here's a fairly big update, with most of the remaining miniatures in the box. The only ones not painted now are the AT-ST, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.

First here we have some mercenaries, the Trandoshan Hunters:

And a monster called a Nexu:

The rest of the rebel heroes:

Lastly as an added bonus here's a new shot of the Royal Guard, after I'd added gloss varnish to their helmets:

Really nice work there! How is the game itself?

Thanks! I haven't really played the game yet, only the tutorial scenario, but that was fun, even if we played it wrong (and not only because it had a FAQ we hadn't found).
There are some really clever dice which take care of both range, damage and special attacks at the same time.

We started our campaign yesterday. The Rebels didn't manage to turn off the signal beacon in time, but did manage to help Luke Skywalker get away in his T-16 scout ship.

Fun games, both were tight.

Unfortunately these guys weren't finished for the first game, but if they turn up in later games in the campaign they'll be ready.
